The rear derailleur is now the brains of the system with wireless connectivity to the shifters. It acts as the point the system is charged, provides ANT+ connection to 3rd party devises and replaces the handlebar junction

Button on the derailleur for Di2 operations, and LED light denotes synchronized shift mode, setting mode and charge requirements.

The distance from handlebar grip to lever can be adjusted to suit any hand size, type of riding and individual rider preferences.

Servowave Technology

When you pull a SERVOWAVE brake lever, initial pad travel is fast, so little lever movement is needed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor. The power multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the pad-to-rim contact so more of the lever stroke is used to apply greater braking power with improved control.

The M6100 chain features Shimano 12-speed Hyperglide+

A computer designed plate profiles to operate seamlessly with Shimano DCE 12-speed chainrings and cassette sprockets, resulting in 1/3 faster shift time than Hyperglide systems even under load.

Thanks to cut-outs on the inside of the plates, the chain harmonizes perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) narrow-wide tooth profiles of the Shimano 12-speed chainrings.

The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the smoother chain run is not only noticeable when pedaling, but also manifests itself acoustically through a quieter drive. Thanks to a new chrome-plated surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain has been kept at the same level as the M8000 chain, despite the smaller outer width.
